VETERINARY CLINIC
CONCORDIA
Innovation, efficiency, professionalism, passion: these are the core values on which our daily work is based in order to offer our customers and their four-legged friends a 360° service that is always precise and punctual.
We love to dedicate all our efforts to the well-being and health of pets: attentive to the needs of our clients, we collaborate with veterinarians outside the clinic to ensure excellent solutions for their patients as well.
We dedicate the best of our profession, passion and respect to each patient. We believe in science and we invest our time to be always up to date, sharing knowledge, support and tools in the service of animal welfare.
We deeply respect the human-animal relationship and recognize the value that an animal has for man and vice versa.
The Concordia Veterinary Clinic is a multi-specialist diagnosis and treatment centre for small animals. Our vets take care of dogs and cats but also unconventional animals, such as guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, hedgehogs, parrots, canaries, sparrows, turtles, lizards, snakes.
Along with a basic outpatient (vaccines) and internal medicine service, the facility offers your pet a staff of vets specialized in oncology, neurology, surgery, orthopedics, anesthesiology, cardiology, dermatology and a full diagnostic service (CT and MRI scans, radiology, ultrasound, echocardiogram, electrocardiogram, lab tests). For the well-being of your four-legged friends, our centre also has the support of experts in behavioural education and nutrition.
The operations are performed only in sterile surgical rooms, with equipment to monitor the patient's vital parameters and with the support of anaesthetists, who also assist in the post-operative period by applying the techniques of pain therapy. The emergency surgery service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The animals in hospital and ICU are assisted 24 hours a day.
We are at the end of the '60s when Giovanni, a veterinarian born in 1922, gold medal for health thanks to his studies on tetanus, begins to devote himself to the care of small dogs and hunting dogs. At that time only a few dogs could count on the owner's willingness to care for them.
His experience and pioneering work, particularly in the surgical field, soon led Giovanni to transfer his skills to the field of small animals and to create a professional interest around him, so that the fully equipped clinic opened in 1969 became in 1977 a clinic with ample opportunities for treatment and hospitalization of small animals.
Meanwhile, Giangiacomo followed his father's path with growing curiosity and in 1979 he obtained a degree which allowed him to work actively in the Concordia Veterinary Clinic with his father until 2006, when he moved the clinic to a new large headquarter in Portogruaro. At the beginning of the 2000s Giangiacomo decided to abandon definitively equine gynaecology and, in response to the growing need for space for clinical activities and diagnostic imaging, he designed and built a veterinary facility located near the motorway exit to make it easier for users to reach. The availability of space and the desire for innovation led, among other things, to the installation of an MRI.
In 2006 the Concordia Veterinary Clinic moved to Portogruaro, in its current location. A large structure (about 400 square metres), where every activity - outpatient visits, diagnostics, surgical rooms and the hospital and intensive care unit - has its own equipped and dedicated spaces.
Today it is the third generation of the family to manage the clinic, continuing the line traced many years ago by the pioneering spirit of his grandfather, under the banner of innovation and technology. Veterinarians Giovanni Antonio and Ione Stefanon are personally involved in the clinical activity and in the management of the facility, which has become a multi-specialist center that integrates the skills of veterinarians and professionals specializing in different disciplines in the service of the welfare of small animals.
